Vietnam Visa Requirements

There is a common, and short, checklist of what you need in order to apply for a Vietnam visa. This list applies for all passport-holders whose countries do not have visa exemption agreement with Vietnam. If you apply for special visa type (other than the tourist visa), additional documents may be required.

This is a list of the mandatory documents required for a Vietnam visitor visa (tourist visa):

Passport requirements:

  • Passports must have at least 06 months of validity remaining and at least one blank page for the visa sticker. Temporary passports may not be accepted.

Photos:

  • Two passport sized photos (4x6 cm and must be recently taken with no glass-wear)

Application form:

  • M3 entry/exit form (for visa on arrival)

Stamping fee:

  • Pay by cash upon arrival (for visa on arrival) - $25 USD for single entry and $50 USD for multiple entry

Approval letter:

  • This is required if you want to obtain the visa on arrival at Vietnam's airport.

Passport bio page scan: 

  • This is required if you apply for an e-visa.

Credit/debit cards:

  • For online payment for e-visa fees.

Proof of onward travel:

  • In case you are exempt from entry visa requirements.

Your Vietnam visa photo must be recently taken with NO glass-wears and its accepted size is 4x6cm (2×2 inch photos are fine too).

No, you can’t. Visa on arrival is just applied for air travel. In case you get into Vietnam by land through a border gate, consider applying for a full visa at the local embassy/consulate or e-visa prior to your departure.

We can not process the e-Vsa in case your passport is valid for less than 6 months following your arrival date in Vietnam. To make all things smooth, we highly recommend you renew your passport.
